Greg Domaszewicz: Warrant issued for arrest of man cleared of Jaidyn Leskie murder

An arrest warrant has been issued for the mechanic who was acquitted of murdering Victorian toddler Jaidyn Leskie.

Greg Domaszewicz is charged with unlawful assault with a weapon and possess a dangerous article namely a “makeshift spear” without lawful excuse on November 30, 2019 at Newport.

The 52-year-old was due to front the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday but failed to show up for his mention hearing.

An arrest warrant was issued by magistrate Duncan Reynolds when he didn’t appear.

It was also revealed in court documents he uses the surname Becker.

Mr Domaszewicz was 28 when he was babysitting 14-month-old Jaidyn Leskie the night he disappeared from a Newborough home in 1997.

The toddler’s body was found six months later in the water of Blue Rock dam near Moe.

The mechanic was found not guilty of murder at a trial in December 1998.

He has always said all he did was leave the boy home alone while drove to pick up the child’s mother Bilynda.
